The Planetary Map panel gives you an overview of all registered locations and installations positions on the planet, you are currently at. The map continuously updating your position while travelling in your ship or SRV above the surface.

Your are able to zoom the map around your location with the mouse wheel. While in 1x, you see your current global position at the planet, while as you zoom in, your current position is centered at the panel and all displayed locations are now shown relative to your position.

Off-map positions are shown by an indicator at the border and pointing into the direction, where the location is located.

By hovering above a displayed location with your mouse, a field of informatioon is shown. By selecting a location, you will have more options to set it as your destination, adding it to your bookmark list, editing some notes or removing the location.

Entering a found element into the note area for a Resource Extraction Site displays an icon of that element at the map instead of the general icon for a Resource Extraction Site.

You can open the filter menu for the displayed locations by clicking the filter button at the top-right corner of the panel. Select there, which locations are displayed at the map and which are not.

Furthermore, you can easily add new locations to your database with the second bottom at the top-right corner of the panel. There you can select different types of locations and after you selected one, you will get a location data window, where you can edit the location name, it's coordinates and notes. By default, the current local coordinates are displayed at the textbox for latitude and longitude. Click the Save button to store the location into your database.

You can also blend in a map legend, where you can switch on/off the displayed location names.

Hide the Planetary Map to return to the Minimap panel.
